Azure budgets

AvailableReviewed 24 August 2026

Azure budgets in FinomateAI compare in-scope Azure spend with an agreed amount. Use them for tenant, subscription or cost-category limits. They sit beside Azure Cost Management budgets — they do not replace them.

Azure budgets for overall Azure, checkout-platform and data-products subscriptions
Sample August run-rate. checkout-platform is the first budget to review.

Before you begin

  • Azure connector is healthy.
  • You know whether the budget is actual or amortised cost.

Create an Azure budget

  1. Open Budgets.
  2. Select Azure.
  3. Select Create budget.
  4. Name it for the subscription or team (for example checkout-platform).
  5. Set a monthly amount in the same currency as the export.
  6. Scope = Azure, then the subscription or cost category.
  7. Alert at 50%, 80% and 100%.
  8. Save.
Azure compliance findings including missing cost-center tags, unattached disks and open SSH
Tagging failures on Azure resources will also keep cost categories unallocated.

Use with Azure Cost Management

Keep both if finance already lives in Cost Management. Use FinomateAI budgets when the same team also watches AWS and GCP.

Expected result

Each important Azure subscription or category has a budget, and an 80% alert has an owner.
